Prachtige beklimming van de Mt. Meru met een fantastisch team! In de eerste dagen van Juli hebben we onder leiding van Pius Julius Minja een 4 daagse beklimming van de Mt. Meru gedaan. Pius en zijn team waren kundig, ontzettend vriendelijk en vooral gezellig. Vooraf kregen we goed advies over kleding en wat in te pakken; het eten was perfect geregeld, net als de slaapplekken. De uitzichten waren fenomenaal en als het ons te zwaar werd, droegen ze onze tassen. We waren via via bij Pius terecht gekomen; maar zouden hem en zijn team iedereen aanraden. Daarnaast, niet onbelangrijk was de prijs rechtvaardig. Grote aanrader!

Epic Adventure in Tanzania Last week, we had our lifetime adventure in Africa, specifically Tanzania with Operation Kilimanjaro. We had a lot of questions on how to travel in Africa because it was our first time in such a beautiful continent. We met Operation Kilimanjaro via Instagram and asked about the Kilimanjaro trekking and safari in Africa. Johnson was very quick in response and knowledgeable with the tours we wanted, so that makes us feel safe to make booking Our airport pickup was already planned when we landed in Tanzania despite our late night flight Lemosho 7 days trekking was absolutely amazing with all the crew, our guides Johnson and Emanuel were very professional in the field with all the flora and fauna and even terrain for the next days. We couldn't make it to the top without our guides, we took seriously all their advice on the pace, how to dress, medications etc. Our chef Edward did a great job to make sure we are not starving on the mountain. It makes me feel that I went to Africa for food, not hiking. Personally, I loved the most Baranco wall and surprised how porters do amazing work to climb that wall... I remember Johnson told us they are heroes of the mountain. The second part of our trip was Serengeti Safari with the mastermind Joseph as our guide! Joseph is very kind and experienced with Tanzania Safaris. He keeps the safari jeep clean and organized all the time. We went to see the great wildebeest migration and have a memorable experience of my life! This is just the highlight of our trip to Africa I will recommend 100% Operation Kilimanjaro as one of the best local companies in Africa, Tanzania

Johnson is simply the best, better than all the rest I recently finished Lemosho 7 days hike with Johnson and literally had the time of my life. Before we commenced the climb, I was a little nervous that I might not summit. I had little reference on what to expect but Johnson very quickly put my mind at ease. He was very good at setting a pace which made the climb feel easy. He preached “pole pole” and showed me the way to summit is simply by taking one step at a time. When the going gets tough, instead of looking to the horizon, I focussed on following Johnson’s footsteps, putting one foot in front of the other. Johnson was great at making sure we walked to our own pace and not be influenced by other climbers. The consistency in the pace he set throughout the whole climb meant we were able to acclimatise without any issues & summit night was pretty easy because we were just walking at the pace we had been all week. Johnson has a great command of the English language, he was great at knowing when to let us focus, when to break the ice and when to dish out words of encouragement. I also love Johnson’s attention to details when it comes to planning. He didn’t have a one size fits all approach. Johnson would tailor our daily hikes depending on the weather conditions, the route, the number of other climbers around to optimise our experience. We had couple of early starts so we could enjoy having the track all to ourselves while other days we slept in to miss the “peak hour traffic”. Before climbing kilimanjaro I never thought too much about how important it is to have a good guide. But from this climb I’ve come to realise a good guide can be the difference between you summiting or not summiting at all, they can also affect how enjoyable your overall experience was. I am grateful we had Johnson as our guide. Words cannot express how great he is at his job and thanks to him, I reached the roof of Africa without any discomfort. I will look forward to doing more climbs with Johnson in the future.
